About me…
I’m Alejandra Rendón, a wildlife photographer and conservation storyteller from Medellín, Colombia, based in Barcelona. With a background as a PhD in Computational Chemistry, I bridge the gap between science and visual storytelling, using my camera to highlight the beauty of the natural world and the urgent need to protect it.
My work focuses on bird conservation, rare species documentation, and storytelling that sparks change. Through my lens, I capture the hidden narratives of endangered birds and fragile ecosystems, hoping to inspire people to connect with nature and take action.
Coming from a scientific background, I understand the importance of data-driven conservation. But science alone is not enough—we need compelling stories to move people. That’s where photography comes in. Through images, I aim to translate complex environmental issues into visual narratives that resonate with a wider audience.
I am also the co-author of Portfolio 1 – Photographs and Stories of Extraordinary Birds, a book that brings together stunning imagery from the renowned photographer Rafael Armada and storytelling. Published by Lynx Nature Books in 2024
